FAITH FOCUS: On the Same Page
******************************************
Samuel Bagster wanted everyone in his family to be on the same page spiritually. That's why in 1794 he compiled daily scriptures centered around a theme to use in his family worship time. He called it THE DAILY LIGHT.

When Ruth Bell Graham was a young child in China, her mother wanted everyone in her family to be on the same page spiritually. That's why she presented her daughter with a very special book, THE DAILY LIGHT.

On her tenth birthday, Anne Graham Lotz was given a small package. She opened it to find her own copy of the treasured volume. Her mom, Ruth Graham, was making sure her family was always on the same page, too.

Throughout her childhood, Anne faithfully read THE DAILY LIGHT. When she had children of her own, each one received a copy on his or her tenth birthday.

"To this day," Anne reflects, "one of the sweetest blessings for me is to know each morning and evening my parents and my children are reading the same thing."

The other day, I was rummaging through a dusty box of old family books when I ran across an aged volume that was missing its cover. Turning over the first page, I found a faded inscription from my great-grandfather to his loving wife. The title of the book? THE DAILY LIGHT.

As I sat on the floor with books scattered about me, I realized God was igniting a desire for my family to be on the same page spiritually. So this New Year's Day, each member of my family will receive a copy of THE DAILY LIGHT. As we begin the new century, I want us to be united in Spirit through the ministry of God's Word. We'll be on the same page, thanks to the efforts of Samuel Bagster and THE DAILY LIGHT.

Together with you in praise,
